Huaraches are the sandals worn by the Tarahumara, the indigenous people of Mexico, known for their ability to run great distances, fast, and with an injury rate much below the injury rate experience by runners in the United States.
Huaraches are ideal for the runner that is not only minimalist in shoe choice, but in life, as huaraches are simple, inexpensive and already proven effective through decades of wear by the Tarahumarah. There are a few companies selling Huaraches, or simply the materials to make your own, as they are simple to make, and can be made to fit the exact dimmentions of your foot.
